A press conference was held at Marriot Hotel Islamabad by Sri lankan High Commission in which Sri Lankan High Commissioner Maj. General (R) Jayanath C.P. Lokuketagodage announced a two days Sri Lankan food festival hosting in collaboration of Sri Lankan High Commission with Islamabad Marriot Hotel. With a view to celebrate the rich diversity of the culture of Sri Lanka at Nadia Hall with the General Manager of the Islamabad Marriott Hotel Roy Kappengerger.

The Festival was started on Saturday 03, February 2018, attracting food and enthusiasts from the cites of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, which will continue till 04, February 2018. The festival introduced and offered a bundle of Sir Lankan foods combine with traditional flavours with a nice and unique flair.
On the occasion Sri Lankan High Commissioner Maj. General (R) Jayanath C.P. Lokuketagodage said,
A very special thing in Sri Lanka is food and it was nicely prepared by Sir Lankan chef Sheikh Dawood Mohamad Satras along with Marriott Hotel's Chefs Nalinda Prasad , who prepared and array of hot fiery, exotic food from the rich heritage of Sir Lankan cuisine.
By the end of the conference a Kandyan Dance by group of Sir Lankan troupe makes its more exciting.
